Detail:
If you’ve ever heard of A Prairie Home Companion, then there is no doubt that you are familiar with the brilliant storytelling of its host, Garrison Keillor. The American author, humorist, columnist, musician, satirist and radio personality is best known for creating the groundbreaking radio drama, A Prairie Home Companion in 1974. Keillor captivated audiences during the two-hour variety show with his striking presence, tongue-in-cheek delivery and humorous tales of life in the Midwest. Garrison Keillor is the author of eight books for adults, and three for children. In addition to his books, he has written poetry and is a consummate story-teller whose voice can be heard on numerous recordings. He has a way of taking a simple story that might seem boring if the average person were telling it, and transforming it with hilarious antidotes and a one-of-a-kind delivery. His books are funny enough in the mind’s eye – they're hysterical in the mind’s ear.
